  • Post 16 Event “The Hero Project”

    A presentation was delivered today by The Hero Project, an education programme run by the charity Anthony Nolan.  Anthony Nolan helps to save the lives of people with blood cancer by matching them with donors willing to give blood stem cells (bone marrow) for transplants.  The Hero Project works in collaboration with NHS Blood and Transplant to deliver presentations to 16 to 18 year olds about bone marrow, blood and organ donation.   The presentation dispelled common myths, explained the importance of donat

  • Countdown to Christmas Attendance Awards

    A ‘Countdown to Christmas’ attendance rewards event is taking place each week for secondary pupils. A year group draw will happen each week for any student who has had 100% attendance that week.   • Remembrance Day 2017

    To mark Remembrance Day, secondary students have been visited by Ann Hickman from The Royal British Legion, known affectionately to our students as Poppy Lady! Ann delivered assemblies to each year group where students and staff learned how our donations are used to support injured soldiers and bereaved families.   • Anti-Bullying Week 2017

    Anti-bullying week 2017 is being held this week between 13th and 17th November. It is a great way to take a stand against bullying and raise awareness in our Academy. Bullying doesn’t just affect children but adults too.

    If you have any concerns about your child being bullied please contact your childs Learning Manager for support.

  • Reading Challenge - Silver Award

    Congratulations to Oliver in Year 7 who has just become the first student this term to achieve the Silver Award in the Serlby Park Reading Challenge by reading a variety of books from Serlby Park Library.

  • Hull Junior Open Art Exhibition

    The Art department has submitted an amazing selection of work for the 'Hull Junior Open Exhibition'.

    The competition has various prizes and selected works are displayed at Hull Maritime Museum between Saturday 25 November 2017 and Sunday 21 January 2018.

  • Tickhill Lions Poster Competition

    18th October 2017

    Each year Tickhill and District Lions hold a free fireworks event, which this year will be held at Tickhill Cricket Club from 5pm on Saturday 4th November. 

    This year they have invited our pupils to design a firework and bonfire safety poster to educate children about the dangers associated with Bonfire Night. They have also kindly offered £50 towards prizes for the winning entries. 

    All completed posters should be handed into the library no later than Wednesday 25th October.

  • Rhymecraft

    18th October 2017

    Rhymecraft is the brand new Serlby Park poetry competition for 7 - 11 year olds with an open theme that will appeal to all ages and abilities. 

    This latest library competition takes imagination to the next level by engaging our pupils with poetry and showing them how to build their poems in Minecraft style.

    It's fun, easy to take part and our pupils could see themselves as published poets. 

    There are great prizes for schools and pupils and a free bookmark and sticker for everyone who enters.

  • Crochet Club

    Serlby Park crochet club restarted this half term with a fabulous turn out for the sessions.
    Crochet club will run every Wednesday after school with a new extended time of 2.30-4.00pm.
     
    All pupils are invited to join us! We are working towards some wonderful Christmas projects and are also creating lovely poppies to sell for Remembrance!
     
     
     
  • Macmillan Coffee Superstars!

    On the 29th September 2017, Serlby Park Academy Secondary had their third Macmillan Coffee morning and it was our biggest and best ever! Students rose to the occasion (without the addition of baking powder) with all their bakes and pennies to donate to the worthy Cancer support charity. The hall was packed at break time and lunchtime with staff and pupils willing to make the ultimate sacrifice –to spend some money and enjoy some great bakes!
