  • Reading Challenge 2018-2019

    21st September 2018

     

    Serlby Park pupils have now been introduced to their brand new reading challenge for this year. 

    Reading diaries now have a new insert, which lists the fantastic books which have been specially selected to form part of your child's reading journey for this year. There are four exciting titles in each colour band to choose from, including stories by significant British authors including Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Colour bands range from Red Level right through to the highest Black Level.

  • Monster Poetry Success

    17th September 2018

    In the summer term our primary pupils were invited to take part in a national poetry competition, which we hoped would inspire and motivate them to use their imaginations and put pen to paper.

    Over 100 pupils took part and we are delighted to announce that several pupils now have now had their poems published in 'Monster Poetry', the latest edition of the poetry books by 'Young Writers'.

  • SATs Results 2018

    We are delighted to celebrate the achievement of our Year 6 pupils SATs results.  Our results this year are significantly above National with 79% of our children achieving the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths against the national of 64%.  This is a fantastic achievement, that has only been achieved through the positive learning behaviours, dedication and commitment of our children, staff and parents working in partnership to pursue excellence in all aspects of our work.   We strive to provide

  • Reading Challenge Gold and Platinum Awards

    Congratulations and well done to our primary pupils who have successfully completed this year's reading challenge.

    Over one hundred fantastic prizes were awarded during a whole school assembly. 

    This year we have awarded: 

    257 Bronze Awards

    166 Silver Awards

    94 Gold Awards

    and

    16 Platinum Awards 

    Well done and thank you to everyone who took part to make this year another amazing year of reading at Serlby Park Academy. 

    A brand new reading challenge will be launched when we return to school in September. 

  • Year 7 Student Led Art Lesson

    This week some of our Y7 students have been creating ideas for and leading their own art lesson! These amazing hedgehogs are made from recycled books and were made by our amazing 7.3 art class in their student led art lesson!

     

     

     

  • Uniform Pop Up Shop

    17th July 2018

    On Thursday 16th August 2018 between 10.30am -3pm there will be a pop-up shop at the Academy to purchase uniform for both Primary and Secondary pupils.

    Also parents will be able to collect new Year 7 uniform packs between these times.

  • The Ryman National Enterprise Challenge 2018

    We are delighted to announce that 2 groups of Year 10 students from Serlby Park Academy reached the grand finals of the prestigious annual Ryman National Enterprise Challenge, the UK’s largest school’s enterprise education competition. This is a huge achievement as 50,000 students, 10,000 teams and 275 schools entered the competition.

    It’s been a very busy time here at Serlby Park Academy in the last few weeks. Y5 pupils from our Feeder Schools have experienced life at Secondary, the pupils took in part in a variety of lessons and met different teachers throughout their day.
